We offer an ideal home for your Kairos retreats

Planning a Junior High or High School youth retreat can be a lot to manage, from choosing a theme and organizing activities to coordinating transportation and meals; each step requires careful thought. Our team at the Maria Stein Retreat Center is here to help lighten your load, offering comfortable accommodations, meeting spaces, and delicious meals.
We are committed to working alongside you to create a retreat experience that is not only well-organized but also spiritually enriching and memorable for your group. Let us help make your time with us both meaningful and enjoyable.
Many high schools in Ohio and Indiana come back to the Retreat Center each year for their Kairos retreats. St. Francis DeSales in Columbus, Ohio has partnered with us for a long time and values the support we provide to their programs.

“We are grateful for the Maria Stein Retreat Center, a place where our students find a rare chance to escape cultural influences, find peace, and become “the young church”. Many will experience genuine Christian community for the first time, discovering true joy and a deeper relationship with God. The staff exemplifies Hebrews 10:24-25: ‘Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.’ ”
Rebecca Metzger, Campus Minister, SFD

Two locations that provide a peaceful Christian sanctuary

at the Lake

at the Woods
Whether you visit our “at the Woods” or “at the Lake” location, you will experience a setting perfectly suited to hosting retreats. Both offer quiet environments that invite students to unplug from their daily routines and immerse themselves in a deep exploration of their faith. During these increasingly rare moments, students discover the opportunity to foster rich dialogue, forge lasting friendships, and develop a renewed sense of community.
“at the Lake” is perfect for groups up to fifty
Located near Grand Lake St. Mary’s, our Montezuma location offers full use of the facility and grounds and is a short walk to ballparks, nature areas, and walking paths around the lake.
Meeting Rooms
Having full use of the entire facility makes it easy to create a secure “lock-in” event. This means you don’t share the space with another group. No more worrying about keeping your students quiet to avoid disturbing another retreat group.

Guest rooms
Dorm beds come with sheets, a pillow, and a blanket provided. Guests staying in the Dorms must bring their own towel. The Private rooms are suited for leaders who need quiet time.

Gymnasium
The full-size gym features a large stage equipped with a rear projection screen and a connected sound system, perfect for presentations or movie night.
