When and where are the Healing Masses held?

– Healing Masses are held in Montezuma in our facility “at the Lake.”
– The schedule is set for the second Tuesday in the months of March, April, May, September,
October and November.
– The 2025 dates are March 11, April 8, May 13, September 9, October 14, and November 11.
Mass begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel.

How do I sign up for a Marriage Preparation Retreat, often called Pre-Cana, or Genesis?

 

– Answer: The Archdiocese of Cincinnati regularly offers the “Genesis” Marriage Prep retreat in Maria Stein, West Milton, Beavercreek, and Norwood. Dates are listed and updated regularly on
the Archdiocese website. No registrations or payments are accepted at any of the hosting
locations, these are simply where the retreats take place. Any questions about the retreat should also be directed to the Archdiocese Marriage & Family Office.

Genesis Marriage Retreat

What type of private rooms do you have?

– Private rooms – feature either a full or queen size bed, desk and recliner, with a private bath.
– Jack and Jill rooms – two individual rooms furnished with a bed, desk and recliner, share one private bath accessible from both rooms.
– Semi-private rooms – private bedrooms with a bed, desk and recliner, share a common bath located nearby in the hallway.

All bed linens and towels are provided.

How do I sign up for a private retreat?

Simply call the Retreat Center at 419-925-7625 or email robin@spiritualcenter.net to discuss your needs and review available dates.

Can non-Catholics have retreats here?

Yes! We welcome groups and individuals representing a diverse cross section of Christian faith traditions. As our Mission statement says: We believe in God the Creator, His Son Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, who guides us through the magisterium of the Catholic Church with its scripture and traditions and through the intercessions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

How do I send a letter of good standing from my Diocese?

Priests who are not from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati are asked to provide a Letter of Suitability to the chancery before presiding for any Masses at the Retreat Center. This letter can be sent to chancellor@catholicaoc.org.

Are the facilities handicap accessible?

The “at the Woods” location in Maria Stein has an elevator providing access to both levels with a handicap accessible entry. The “at the Lake” location in Montezuma is a single level building with no stairs, and is handicap accessible.

Do you have ADA accessible rooms?

There is one ADA room in each building.  All other rooms are handicap friendly with pull bars beside all toilets and in all showers.  The showers all have very low clearance entry points to make it easier to enter.

Are towels and linens provided?

Bed linens, pillows, and towels are provided for our guests in Private, Jack and Jill, and Semi-private rooms.

Guests in our Dorms are provided bed linens and pillows, but must bring their own towel.

How many dorm beds and dorm restrooms/showers are at each location?

at the Woods in Maria Stein = 40 beds in three separate dorm rooms with 8 showers

at the Lake in Montezuma = 50 beds in two separate dorm rooms with 6 showers

How many private rooms are in each building?

at the Woods in Maria Stein has 60 private rooms, 8 Jack and Jill, and 5 semi-private rooms, in addition to the dorms

at the Lake in Montezuma has 5 private rooms with two beds, and 1 private room with one bed, in addition to the dorms

How many conference rooms are in each building?

at the Woods in Maria Stein = 4 large conference rooms and many smaller rooms and breakout spaces

at the Lake in Montezuma = 3 large conference rooms, an enclosed four-season room, a full gym, as well as multiple small breakout rooms

Is there a refrigerator available?

Yes, we have several refrigerators available for our guests to use. They are located near the dining areas and in the kitchenettes.  There are no refrigerators in the bedrooms.

Is there a microwave available?

Yes, microwaves are located in the kitchenettes at both facilities.

Can photographs be taken on the grounds of the Retreat Center?

Yes.  The grounds make for a beautiful setting for group and family photos.  We do ask that you contact us prior to your visit to ensure that our guests’ events will not be interrupted.

Can you accommodate special dietary requests?

Yes, we can address most dietary restrictions and requests, provided we receive advance notice prior to your visit.  Please include the information when booking or contact us at 419-925-7625.  For those with extreme dietary issues, we ask that items are brought to supplement what we serve or all items are brought and warmed up by the guests to reduce any chances of cross contamination.  

Can we do our own cooking in your kitchens?

Unfortunately no.  We have a commercial kitchen at each facility run by our trained staff of cooks, and we are happy to arrange for your meals during your stay.

Can we have our meals catered by a third party?

We do not permit catering in either of our locations.  We have a commercial kitchen at each facility run by our trained staff of cooks, and we are happy to arrange for your meals during your stay.  

Are pets allowed?

 We love pets as much as you, but unfortunately, we are not a pet-friendly facility.  Certified service animals are welcome, but advance notice must be given.  Companion animals are not permitted.  

What time do we have to check out of our rooms?

Usually, we ask that groups vacate their bedrooms by breakfast time at 8:30 a.m.  Housekeeping helps direct people to what needs to be removed from the rooms.  Please check with the staff upon arrival or before you arrive regarding check out times, and if another group is arriving the same day as your group.
