We offer an ideal home for your Kairos retreats!
Planning a High School Kairos youth retreat can be a lot to manage, from choosing a theme and organizing activities to coordinating transportation and meals; each step requires careful thought. Our team at the Maria Stein Retreat Center is here to help lighten your load, offering comfortable accommodations, meeting spaces, and delicious meals.
We are committed to working alongside you to create a retreat experience that is not only well-organized but also spiritually enriching and memorable for your group. Let us help make your time with us both meaningful and enjoyable.
Campus Ministry Partners
Every year, high schools from Ohio and Indiana return to the Retreat Center for their Kairos retreats. We are particularly delighted to have St. Francis DeSales from Columbus, Ohio, as a long-term partner. Their leadership team appreciates the comprehensive support we provide, which enables them to focus on students’ spiritual growth and personal development.
As students engage in reflection and community-building activities, they cultivate lasting memories and transformative experiences that profoundly shape their lives for years to come. We look forward to developing a similar partnership with your program, embarking on a rewarding journey together, and motivating students to achieve their fullest potential.

“We are grateful for the Maria Stein Retreat Center, a place where our students find a rare chance to escape cultural influences, find peace, and become “the young church”. Many will experience genuine Christian community for the first time, discovering true joy and a deeper relationship with God. The staff exemplifies Hebrews 10:24-25: ‘Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.’ ”
Rebecca Metzger, Campus Minister, SFD
The transformative power of retreats
As Christian adults, we acknowledge the importance of guiding our youth on their faith journeys, but also appreciate that budgets are often tight, and funds must be spent wisely. Rest assured that the Maria Stein Retreat Center is fully committed to helping you achieve your financial objectives. We are happy to share the cost for an overnight retreat to help you make informed financial decisions as you plan a meaningful and memorable experience for your group. The typical total cost per student for an overnight youth retreat:
4 day / 3 night retreat
when staying in the Dorms, just
$200 per youth
or when staying in Private Rooms, just
$245 per youth
This is a typical price for an entire stay for each youth, and includes:
- Sleeping accommodations for three nights
- Nine home-cooked meals designed to satisfy young people
- Full use of large and small meeting rooms
- Enjoy 24/7 access to our complimentary coffee and juice bar
We welcome your inquiries regarding available dates, cost-saving options, or to discuss details about your retreat. We look forward to further assisting you on this exciting journey! Please don’t hesitate to reach out via email or phone!
Two locations that provide a peaceful Christian sanctuary for your next retreat!

at the Lake

at the Woods
Whether you visit our “at the Woods” or “at the Lake” location, you will experience a setting perfectly suited to hosting retreats. Both offer quiet environments that invite students to unplug from their daily routines and immerse themselves in a deep exploration of their faith. During these increasingly rare moments, students discover the opportunity to foster rich dialogue, forge lasting friendships, and develop a renewed sense of community.
“at the Lake” offers a private space
Located near Grand Lake St. Mary’s, our Montezuma location offers full use of the facility and grounds, and is a short walk to community ballparks, nature areas at Windy Point State Park, and walking paths around the Lake, as well as the 5-mile Greenway Trail.
Meeting Rooms
Having full use of the entire facility makes it easy to create a secure “lock-in” event. This means you don’t share the space with another group. No more worrying about keeping your students quiet to avoid disturbing another retreat group.

Guest rooms
Dorm beds come with sheets, a pillow, and a blanket provided. Guests staying in the Dorms must bring their own towel. The Private rooms are suited for leaders who need quiet time.
